All in all dachshunds are a low maintenance breed. Our care pages were put together to educate the dachshund owner and potential dachshund owners. When we first received our first dachshund, we knew how to take care of Labs, St. Bernards, Cocker Spaniels, even chihuahua's.

It was apparent after the first week, these fourlegged lowriders needed a different kind of care than other breeds. So, after veterinarian advice and scouring the internet for more information, we tried it all out on our own dachshunds.

Alot of information we wanted to know was hard to find. Much of it doesn't pertain to dachshunds. We were willing to try anything to combat things like marking, territorial barking, digging and being escape artists. They even teamed up on us and started taking turns acting out. Through trial and tribulation, we quickly found out what works and what doesn't. Each one is sooo different and just like children, you get tested. The trick is Patience, Consistency, and Love.
